Pack 712 meets on Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 on days when school is in
session. The pack does not meet in the summer, but holds a special event
each month. One of our upcoming trips is to the Aircraft Carrier
Yorktown in Charleston, S.C.
The pack has a very traditional program with boys broken into dens
according to age. Monday meeting include advancement opportunities and
recreation time. The cubs participate in several parent-son camping
trips each year and favorite destinations include Raven Point on High
Rock Lake and Raven Knob Scout Camp. Other activities include snow
tubing, bowling, and a pinewood derby.
Greg Hall has served as cub-master for nearly three years and has
several den leaders who assist him.

Troop 712 meets on Monday nights from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the boy scout
hut which is the cinderblock building behind the fellowship hall. The
troop currently has 10 scouts. Our program mainly includes a high
adventure, back packing style camping and individually oriented
advancement opportunities.
Our Scoutmaster, Gary Hunt, is wood badge trained and has over ten
years experience as a scout leader. His assistants, Dana Hall and Joe
Hughes, were scouts as teenagers and continue to participate in several
outdoor activities. A great deal of scouting experience is possessed by
all of our leaders.
We conduct several troop fund raisers each year which allow scouts to
participate in outdoor activities at a reduced cost. We are determined
not to let financial situations stand in the way of a boys participation
in scouting.
We have a high percentage of the boys who continue in the program
achieve the rank of Eagle since we can individually gear the program to
the boys needs.
Our troop will be going on a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New
Mexico for June 16 to July 2. We are currently selling Papa John's
coupons to raise funds for this trip and soliciting funds through a
stock program which entitles stock holders to attend a post-Philmont
celebration with dinner and a slide show.
Several of our boys are close to reaching their Eagle and will age
out in about one year. The troop will then rebuild towards more high
adventure for the future.
